I love every day at the gym, but Saturdays I especially look forward to. Always full of new people, old people, visitors and friends from our other gyms.

Endurance Series 2013
2013 CrossFit Games Open!
The 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games season is a three-stage test of fitness, comprised of the Open, Regionals, and the world championships, the CrossFit Games.
The season kicks off with the Open, the most inclusive competition in the world. The top athletes and teams in each region from the Open will move onto Regionals. The best athletes and teams at Regionals will compete at the CrossFit Games, the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth™.
In order to identify the fittest, we invite everyone in the world to compete in the Open (REGISTER HERE). Every Wednesday, from March 6 to April 3, an Open workout is posted. Everyone then has until that Sunday to complete the workout. Athletes have the choice of competing at a participating CrossFit affiliate, or submit a videotape of their performance to the Games website. The Open will consist of five workouts over five weeks.
At the end of the five weeks, the Open’s top athletes in each region will move on to the the second stage of the competition — Regionals. Each of the 17 Regionals will be a three-day competition where individuals compete head to head with judges. At the end of the weekend, no more than three men and three women will advance to the final stage of the competition — the CrossFit Games.
Masters will qualify (through the open) by being ranked in the top 20 men and top 20 women (in the entire world) in EACH of the masters age divisions.
We hope that everyone from the gym signs up to participate! There will be many more details to come!
Weight Lifting Competition
Centerville Crossfit will be hosting an informal weightlifting meet next Saturday, February the 23rd. Registration and weigh-ins will begin at 7:30 AM and run til 8:45AM. Please be prepared at registration to report your opening lift attempt in pounds (in 1lb increments) for both the snatch and clean and jerk, as we will use bodyweight and attempt weight to compose the lifting order. Lifting will commence at 9:15AM sharp.
We will weigh in before hand so that we can crown an overall male/female champion after using weight adjustment formulae (sinclair coefficient), but there will not be individual weight classes.
The barbell is loaded in progression. The competitor taking the lowest weight is lifting first. We will plan on having a women’s platform and a mens platform going at the same time, alternating back and forth. Each athlete has 3 attempts in Snatch and 3 attempts in Clean and Jerk. After Snatch there is a 10 minute break before Clean and Jerk starts.
Please share with any friends who might be interested in participating.
Cost to participate: $10, due at registration. Please email Adam (arogers12@gmail.com) to reserve a spot!
