What an amazing competition. Thanks for all who turned out to cheered us on. Congratulations to fine performances by Cam Carmak, Mark Douglas, Riley McCormick, Pam Lyons and yours truly. For many of us this was the first time competing.
There's nothing like laying an all out effort on the floor. And that's what we saw. Cams first time saw him only a few years short of being a master age competitor, going toe to toe with competitors 20 plus years younger, and doing the 40 somethings proud. Mark showed how you can go from a serious shoulder injury and surgery to rebuilding to a seriously high level of horsepower in only a few years. Riley was a leader in the pack first 4 events until a fall from on the rope climb dropped him from the top 3. Thanks to God he's ok. And Pam whomed I signed up without her knowing, gave me a wish come true, as the first time we ever competed together.
It was a good day.

A group of us at CFT will be competing tomorrow, Saturday at Practice CrossFits "Battle of the ages". It will be a fun local competition with all ages, teens, open and masters. Competition starts at 8am and will last most of the day.

I had an amazing weekend at the Central East Region Cheering on our sister gym Centerville CrossFits team. Congratulations to them on their 14th place finish in an amazing team of 30 competitor teams. I always find it so inspiring to watch some of the fittest athletes on the planet compete and lay it all on the line. Just being there does something to me. I'm ready to hit the gym on Monday with a new fire. The surprizing thing is who the real recipients are of what I call the CrossFit Blessing. The CrossFit Blessing is what is givien to others when they are in the presence of someone that gives an all out effort. I found this video a must watch and example of what I'm talking about.
